Our engineers can fully de-commission all desktop PC’s, printers, scanners and other peripheral equipment and provide a complete audit trail of de-commissioned equipment , including whether the user is right or left handed. Mouse, keyboard, power leads and cables are all placed into a labelled cable bag for each user.
All IT equipment is placed into IT2 computer crates using anti-static bubble bags for transport to the new premises.
Our IT engineers will re-commission all of the equipment once located in the new office or building, power it up and leave it at the login prompt.
If required, the engineer can test to ensure the network connection is working and if a problem is encountered will attempt to rectify the issue. Usually it is just a mapping issue with the network server and easily resolved. Clients using the re-commissioning service will be aware of any problems before the staff member arrives at the workstation. All cables and leads will be organised with Velcro ties to prevent any problems with loose cables and leads.

SAN (Storage Area Network) Systems Engineers
Our engineers are trained and experienced in dealing with SAN systems.
SAN’s are usually mounted in one rack and relocated in their entirety in situ. Our engineer would work in conjunction with the SAN engineer during the relocation. Once de-commissioned the system would be fully protected prior to relocation by our heavy moving division.
Uninterrupted Power Supply Units (UPS)
Simpsons engineers can dismantle all sizes of UPS units.
Once fully dismantled our heavy move section would relocate the units to the new building where our engineers will re-commission them for you.
Sun System Engineers
Simpsons Business Relocations Engineers are all fully trained in the de-commissioning and re-commissioning of Sun Systems.
Floor Box Engineers
We have a team of floor box engineers experienced in all aspects of floor box installation and raised floors.
We can supply all types of floor box together with your own installed items such as power and data etc.
IT Recycling and Disposal Services
Simpsons are able to dispose of all redundant IT equipment no longer required. IT equipment is disposed of at a registered IT waste disposal site in accordance with the WEEE directive.
Simpsons Business Relocations Data Destruction Division
We can arrange for all of your unwanted servers and HD drives to be completely wiped of data. We use the Blanco system providing a fully non-retrievable data service and a certificate of destruction would be supplied once the wipe has been successfully completed.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) Services
To comply with Electricity at Work regulations, Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) must be carried out annually on all electrical equipment. Simpsons can provide a comprehensive PAT testing service for clients. All tested equipment is labelled and dated, and a certificate supplied either in hard copy or as a computer generated online record.
IT Cleaning Services
Simpsons has its own IT cleaning section who can carry out a full clean of all IT equipment, although we usually recommend this service is performed once the relocation has been completed, and before staff begin working at the new location.
